Skywalkers Ruin Everything?

Earlier this week, I read a joke on tumblr about how the Skywalkers were responsible for everything wrong with the GFFA. But, are they? It's an easy assumption to make. They are the main characters of the trilogies, after all, but let us examine the evidence.

Star Wars: Buddhist? Taoist? Nah.

I generally roll my eyes at assertions that Star Wars is based on or connects to Buddhist or Taoist concepts. In fact the OT and PT are based on pretty standard Christian good-evil morality, and it annoys me when people try to shoehorn Buddhism and Taoism into that framework.

Stop Saying Star Wars is Buddhist or Taoist
