Would it have affected the Order that much, I wonder, given that they're constantly told that they are Dark Side disasters waiting to happen and if they do go to the Dark Side it's All Their Fault and so they should suffer alone and not ask for help, ever? If anything it looks like Dooku could be another cautionary tale.
